I just missed the opening of this first bloom whose tube I cut, as we can see on the photograph above. Fortunately, a second bloom opened and I was more vigilant. It's the photograph of this second bloom which illustrates the page.

The bloom started to open at nightfall and closed in the early morning hours; so, it was the bloom of a botanical Epiphyllum. The floral tube was approximately 15 cm (6 inches) long and the petals were white, narrow and slender.
