Disocactus macranthus
Epiphyllum x 'George's Favorite' (photo 2)

Rudolf Hessing was and still is (successfully) working on creating hybrid Epiphyllum corresponding to the two following criteria:
1- small-sized blooms and compact plants.
2- as extended as possible blooming period including winter if possible.
He explained us his basic principles which I summarize in a few words: he crosses Disocactus and/or Epiphyllum already having criteria 1 and/or 2.
We have just seen two very often used parents: Disocactus macranthus and Epiphyllum x 'George's Favorite'. Rudolf added another one to these. >>>Next page 6/13
