EPIPHYLLUM ANGULIGER

or

DISOCACTUS ANGULIGER

photo 2/6 taken on: 2015/11/04 at 2 am (night)

And this is the clone which bloomed in my collection. The cutting was given to me in 2010.

On 2015/11/04 (4 November) I noticed that four buds had been born for about two weeks. They measure approximately 15cm (5.9 in) long, tube included.

Epiphyllum anguliger is a species which blooms in autumn or even in winter, which explains this wintertime flowering, unusual in my collection. As I have never yet observed blooming of this species, I will check twice a day to not miss the complete opening.

The plant is located in a relatively shaded place of my greenhouse and the temperature varies from 10°C (50°F) nightly to 15°C (59°F) daily, sometimes 20°C (68°F). November isn't particularly luminous in the Paris region where I live.
