SCHLUMBERGERA x 'GOLD CHARM'
This year, I have chosen to show you once again Schlumbergera with yellow flowers.
They are all hybrids and this is the first one to have been obtained. I talk about it elsewhere on my website in the history of the Christmas Cacti.
Since then, there are many more Schlumbergera with yellow flowers. The yellow colouring is sensitive to the minimum temperature reached between the formation of the bud and the blossoming of the flower. If this temperature drops below about 15°C, the flowers also turn pink, like the one on this page. By growing warmer, you get pure yellow flowers, like those sold in garden centres.
The various yellow-flowered hybrids are more or less resistant to pink discoloration if the temperature is too cold.
