The pot has been withdrawn and, in the soil, we clearly see the white grains of sand (small ones) and pearlite (big ones). The few yellow grains are grains of special cacti Osmocote fertilizer, which had been added to the compost during the sowing process. This fertilizer has a slow escape speed, it escapes from the grains only when the temperature is high enough; it’s not rare that one or even two years later, the grains of Osmocote are not yet completely empty.
The flattened stems still have a youthful form
: when they are adult, they will have fewer thorns and a lanceolate form.
