Following the evolution of all these totally atypical buds for Schlumbergera, I was expecting atypical blooming flowers as well as the buds.
Would the flowers be actinomorphic or zygomorphic?
This white bud is starting to open.
This pink bud (pot number 1) is starting to open as well.
Same thing for the pink bud in the other pot (pot number 2).
But is it really pink?
To my surprise, I noticed that one of the two pink buds was turning orange-red as it was opening.
I hadn't discerned this small difference in colour that exists when observing the flower buds.
This difference is now clear.
