While it was long believed that this Epiphyllum was a hybrid of Selenicereus grandiflorus with Epiphyllum crenatum,

it is a botanical Epiphyllum: Epiphyllum crenatum var. kimnachii.

It would be a cultivar, a form found in nature, and multiplied under the name: 'cooperi'.

The flowers of this Epiphyllum often appear close to the ground
, earning it the name :

'Bottom White'

 

Ep. cooperi has a diurnal flowering.
