EPIPHYLLUM ANGULIGER
or
DISOCACTUS ANGULIGER
photo 6/6 taken on 2015/11/08 at 3 pm (day)
Here is a more complete photograph of the entire plant. The first bloom which opened (in the lower left-hand side) starts to fade. Thus it remained open for 3 nights and 2 days and a half, which surprises me because I thought that Epiphyllum anguliger, like many of the botanic Epiphyllum, had only nocturnal blooming with blooms remaining open only one night.
Thus, there are several possible explanations and I admit not being able to say which is the good one:
1- This clone of Epiphyllum anguliger has a particularly long blooming duration.
2- This clone is a hybrid of Epiphyllum anguliger with another Epiphyllum.
3- The days of November being far from luminous and particularly fresh in my greenhouse, blooming lasted longer than in the biotope of origin.
To conclude these series of Epiphyllum anguliger photographs, it appears interesting to me to mention that the wintertime blooming of this species was used to create hybrids blooming in autumn or winter, among which:
Epiphyllum x 'Jalisco Disco' (photo taken on 2013/10/19)
Epiphyllum x 'Jalisco Grace' (photo taken on 2013/12/06)
Epiphyllum x 'Jalisco Joy' (photo taken on 2013/11/13)
These three hybrids have as a pedigree: Epiphyllum anguliger x (Epiphyllum x 'George' S Favorite').
They had been created by Rudolf Hessing who gave me the cutting of Epiphyllum anguliger which bloomed in my collection.
And here is the last one which bloomed recently:
Epiphyllum x 'Kaguyahime' (photo taken on /2016/08/03)

I already spoke about these hybrids in an article corresponding to one of the links of the bottom of this page.
