Echinopsis arboricola is the only epiphytic Echinopsis.

It grows in Bolivia in cloud forests at 1100 m altitude.

It blooms nocturnally, lasting opened only one night.

In cultivation, it is erect, becoming pendent

when the stems become long enough.
