This tree, may be dead, maybe leaveless due to the dry season, is covered with numerous epiphytic plants.

Epiphytes are to be found all over the Tikal site. Sometimes, I walked on carpets of Tillandsias, fallen from trees. (sufficient quantities to cause a vertiginous Tillandsia price fall in all garden-centers of the Paris area.)
